On 24 April 2026, Filip Nastić, research associate at the Faculty of Engineering in Kragujevac and a participant in the Interreg Danube GeoHeCo project, presented his paper titled “IT-Based Feasibility Assessment of a Shallow Geothermal System in a Renovated Educational Building in Kragujevac” at the Deep Tech Conference held at the Faculty of Science, University of Kragujevac.

The presentation highlighted the application of an online IT tool developed within the Interreg Danube GeoHeCo project. The tool was used to support the feasibility assessment of a shallow geothermal system implemented in a renovated educational building in Kragujevac.

The results presented in the paper demonstrate the practical value of the GeoHeCo IT tool in evaluating geothermal energy solutions, enabling more accurate and data-driven decision-making in the planning of sustainable heating and cooling systems.

This case study represents an important example of how project-developed digital tools can be directly applied in real-world contexts, contributing to the advancement of renewable energy solutions and supporting the energy transition in the Danube Region.
