On 6th of May 2026, a national webinar was held to present and test a digital platform featuring an integrated virtual marketplace and an IT tool for designing geothermal hybrid heating and cooling systems developed within the Danube GeoHeCo project. The webinar was organised by Medjimurje Energy Agency Ltd. in cooperation with the Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering, University of Zagreb, and was held via the Zoom platform.

The aim of the webinar was to present the two key digital solutions developed within the project and to enable their testing by relevant stakeholders. Participants were given an overview of the platform’s functionalities, with particular emphasis on the virtual marketplace connecting supply and demand side stakeholders, as well as on the IT tool enabling optimisation and dimensioning of geothermal systems in line with real energy needs. In addition, the key objectives of the Danube GeoHeCo project were presented, focusing on fostering wider adoption of shallow geothermal technologies in the heating and cooling sector, as well as highlighting the importance of digital solutions in accelerating the energy transition.

The interactive part of the webinar included testing of both the platform and the developed IT tool, along with the collection of participants’ feedback, which will serve to further improve the developed solutions and adapt them to market needs. During the closing remarks, participants were informed about the organisation of the final transnational conference of the project, which will take place on 20 May 2026 in Novi Sad (Serbia) in hybrid format.

We would like to thank all participants for their active involvement and valuable feedback, and we look forward to the final steps in project implementation.
