Project Danube GeoHeCo partner- InnoGeo and Turkish Delegation Collaborate on Sustainable Geothermal Practices in Szeged

 A high-level delegation of Turkish experts from YALÇIN BORU JEOTERMAL visited the geothermal installations in Szeged on 19 September 2024. The visitors were welcomed and introduced to the robust deep geothermal project by InnoGeo Ltd, the District Heating Company of Szeged and the Geothermal Energy Applied Research team of the University of Szeged.

Topics of the discussion included technical aspects of switching fossil fuel-based DH systems to renewables, potential for district cooling, and social issues associated with drilling in urban environments. InnoGeo experts detailed their involvement in the Danube GeoHeCo project, discussed their plans of utilizing used geothermal water for cooling and laid out a roadmap for future cooperation with the institutions of the visitors.
