On 20 April 2026, Forschung Burgenland, a project partner in the Danube GeoHeCo project, organized a Regional Educational Workshop held at the Pinkafeld Campus of the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland as part of the Interreg Danube GeoHeCo project. The aim of the event was to communicate key topics and current developments in the field of shallow geothermal energy in an accessible and practice-oriented manner.

A particular focus was placed on involving younger target groups: participants from HTL Pinkafeld gained insights into the potential, technologies, and application areas of geothermal energy systems through interactive formats and theoretical inputs. In addition to introducing the general thematic framework, innovative approaches such as hybrid systems and concrete use cases were also discussed.

Furthermore, key project results were presented, including the IT-based decision-support tool developed within the project and the digital platform for connecting supply and demand. The workshop therefore combined knowledge transfer, practical relevance, and exchange, contributing to the awareness-raising and qualification of future professionals in the context of the energy transition in the Danube Region.
