On 15–16 April 2026, Forschung Burgenland (PP4) participated in the Research Forum of the Universities of Applied Sciences in Graz (FFH 2026), where it presented an overview of the IT Decision Tool developed by the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering (UNIZG-RGNF), together with project partners, within the framework of the Interreg Danube GeoHeCo project.

The presentation was delivered during the “Sustainable Innovation 2” session and highlighted the tool’s role in supporting decision-making processes in the field of shallow geothermal energy systems.

The IT Decision Tool attracted significant interest from participants, particularly due to its capability to simulate the long-term performance of heat pumps in combination with auxiliary energy sources. The discussion emphasized its potential application in planning and optimizing sustainable heating solutions.

The event provided a valuable opportunity to present project results to an expert audience and to exchange knowledge on innovative approaches supporting the energy transition.
