Partnership Meeting Successfully Held in Pécs
From 19 to 21 November 2025, project partners of Danube4Rural.com gathered in Pécs, Hungary, for a three-day Partnership Meeting that marked an important milestone in the project’s implementation. Hosted at the Palatinus Grand Hotel, the meeting provided a valuable platform for in-depth discussions, knowledge exchange, and strategic coordination among partners.
The meeting began on Wednesday with arrivals, registration, and an informal ice-breaking session, followed by a welcoming dinner that set the tone for open collaboration and networking.
Focus on Progress, Policy, and Pilots
Thursday was dedicated to the core project content. After an overview of project accomplishments and meeting objectives, partners took part in a series of interactive workshops. These included the presentation and discussion of preliminary research results, the development of a policy framework and action plan, and a focused session on the Remote Workers Policy Hub (Output 1.3).
The afternoon continued with discussions on project budget tracking and future steps related to the inclusion of digital nomads, concluding with a joint reflection on workshop outcomes. Throughout the day, ample time was reserved for networking and informal exchanges, reinforcing cooperation among partners.
Preparing the Pilot Phase and Strengthening Synergies
On Friday, partners explored governance model examples and engaged in a forward-looking discussion on the pilot phase implementation, a key upcoming step of the project. A dedicated session on synergy building, led by STRIA Nonprofit Ltd., highlighted opportunities for stronger alignment and collaboration across partners and activities. The meeting concluded with the 8th Steering Committee (SCOM) meeting, followed by closing remarks and a final networking lunch.
Acknowledgements and Next Steps
As the lead partner, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to STRIA Nonprofit Ltd. for their excellent organisation, professionalism, and warm hospitality, which created an inspiring environment for productive discussions and partnership building.
The Pécs meeting once again confirmed the partners’ strong and shared commitment to making rural areas across the Danube Region more attractive for remote workers and digital nomads. With clear progress achieved and concrete next steps defined, the project now moves confidently towards the pilot phase.
We thank all partners for their active participation and valuable contributions and look forward to continued cooperation and impact across the region.
