Announcement of DECA partner meeting in Cres

The Island Development Agency (OTRA) will host the bi-annual DECA Project Partner Meeting on 7–8 October 2025 in Cres (Croatia), bringing together partners from across the Danube Region. Over two days at the Moise Palace, the consortium will review progress, align on strategic next steps, and exchange insights from national pilot projects.

A central highlight of this meeting will be the Learning Lab “Pričigin” (local slang word for Storytelling), a storytelling session inspired by the local Cres tradition of live storytelling. On 8 October, community activators will share first-hand experiences of building renewable energy communities, demonstrating how stories — beyond data and statistics — inspire participation, create shared identity, and mobilise action.

The session will explore:

  • Why storytelling is essential for visibility and participation in energy communities

  • Memorable examples of effective and less effective narratives from across Europe

  • How partners can co-create stories that strengthen community energy transitions

Alongside this unique storytelling focus, the partner meeting will also provide space for reflection on training experiences, common hub planning, toolkit development, and policy dialogue. Together, these exchanges will strengthen the foundations for community energy growth in the Danube Region.

We look forward to welcoming our partners, associated partners and colleagues to Cres for two days of collaboration, inspiration, and collective learning.
