Pilot Action kick-off event on 30th May 2025 in Serbia

As part of the DECORATOR project, the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Forestry successfully hosted the Serbian Pilot Kick-off event on May 30th, within the framework of the Mikser Festival 2025. This event marked the official start of Pilot 1 activities in Serbia, with a focus on Pilot 1 - Multidisciplinary Workshop.

The workshop brought together nearly 50 participants, including architects, engineers, designers, researchers, students, and representatives from SMEs and the public sector. Through a series of expert presentations and open discussions, the event explored three key themes: traditional materials, innovative materials, and the role of wood in sustainable construction.

By encouraging dialogue across disciplines, the workshop contributed to the broader DECORATOR vision of circular construction—guided by Cradle to Cradle (C2C) and New European Bauhaus (NEB) principles. This gathering served as a foundation for mapping Serbia’s traditional building knowledge and opening pathways for integrating sustainable materials and practices into future architectural and construction projects.

At the end of the event, participants engaged in a discussion and exchange of ideas for potential sites and concepts to be included in the upcoming Social Treasure Hunt activity.
