The Third Focus Group in Belgrade (Serbia)

The Third Focus Group in Belgrade (Serbia)

The third focus group on the topic "Managing the Imbalance between Energy Produced from Renewable Sources and the Load in the Electrical Grid" was held on October 17 in Belgrade. The discussion focused on the decentralization of the energy system and reducing network overload through the implementation of directives.

As an introduction to the topic, Dr. Michael Stöhr spoke about opportunities for increasing electricity production from renewable sources without the need to strengthen the grid, as well as the role of energy communities, citing Germany as an example. He will also discuss EU directives in this area (the Renewable Energy Directive and the Electricity Market Directive).
