Women in Forestry: Connecting Across Borders and Generations
The international conference Women in Forestry: Connecting Across Borders and Generations will take place on April 22–23, 2026 in Graz, Austria. The event brings together experts, practitioners, researchers, and representatives of women’s forestry networks from across Europe and beyond.
The conference focuses on strengthening cooperation, exchanging knowledge, and promoting the role of women in the forest sector. Through keynote presentations, panel discussions, and interactive sessions, participants will explore key topics such as international forest governance, career pathways for women in forestry, mentoring models, and strategies to attract young talents to the sector.
The conference is organized within the Fem2forests project, in cooperation with WOFO – Women in Forestry International and Forstfrauen Austria.
The full conference programme is now available.
The first day of the conference will feature a series of presentations and discussions addressing both challenges and opportunities for women in forestry, including contributions from international organizations, academia and professional associations.
On the second day, participants will take part in field trips, offering practical insights into sustainable forest management, wood industry practices, and close-to-nature forestry approaches.
