MEET Pilot - Košice, Slovakia
In May, TUKE hosted a series of three engaging pilot sessions at the Business Academy Watsonova, with students aged 16 to 17. Over three days, three different classes dove into topics that resonate deeply with today’s youth: bullying and violence prevention (mainly differences between cyberbullying and bullying and how to not become bully, nor victim); relaxation techniques (mainly facing one´s feelings and emotions); and addiction awareness (mainly digital media addiction).
With the guidance of a professional psychologist had the sessions aimed to create a safe space where students could openly explore complex social and mental health challenges.
A mix of materials from the MEET project and TUKE’s own resources shaped the content, while interactive tools like LearningApps and Kahoot kept the sessions dynamic.
Students expressed a desire to build stronger peer relationships, reduce their dependence on phones and social media, and become more aware of their mental well-being. Building on this momentum, the next steps will focus on adapting and refining the session formats based on student feedback. The pilot sessions proved that when given the chance, young people are not only ready to talk - they're readyto act.
