MEET Pilot - Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Organised by Amica Educa, Tuzla, May - August 2025

In May and June, Amica Educa organized ten pilot sessions on mental health, focusing on raising awareness, building basic knowledge, and developing social and life skills, as well as stress management and relaxation techniques.

In August, two additional sessions on bullying prevention were held for young people (aged 15–17) living in the Home for Children without Parental Care.

Led by a young psychologist, the sessions provided a safe and supportive environment where participants could actively engage. By combining mental health education with hands-on, creative, and body-based practices—such as relaxation and breathing exercises—we introduced a more holistic and accessible approach to mental well-being.

As a result, participants gained a deeper understanding of mental health and strengthened their self-awareness, introspection, and self-image. They practiced personal and social skills in interactive ways and acquired practical tools and resources to support their mental well-being, equipping them for future challenges.

Overall, the pilot confirmed that with the right tools, support, and approach, young people from diverse backgrounds are not only eager to participate but also capable of remarkable personal growth. Their resilience, creativity, and openness stood out, and their feedback strongly emphasized the importance of such interventions in promoting mental health, emotional well-being, and life readiness.

For Amica Educa, the pilot was equally valuable. It enabled us to enrich our educational toolkit with materials from the MEET Project’s Toolbox and to create content tailored to the unique needs and learning styles of young people. We are proud to have supported their growth while enhancing our own methods for education and engagement.
