RTIT >> Project Presented to the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Public and SMEs through Roundtable on Technology Transfer in the Materials Sector
INTERA Technology Park, in cooperation with the University of Zenica, organized a roundtable discussion on “Technology Transfer in the Materials Sector: Opportunities and Challenges for SMEs”. The event was attended by representatives of 6 companies, 9 universities, the city administration and the INTERA TP team, and was moderated by Dr. Nedeljko Milosavljević.
The roundtable focused on the growing innovation environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the possibilities for better utilization of capacities in research, technologies and innovations, especially in the field of materials. The discussion highlighted key challenges, including limited mechanisms for academic staff to gain experience in industry, insufficient cooperation between universities and companies, and lack of financial resources for implementing innovations.
Opportunities for cooperation that were identified include mentoring, joint pilot projects and workshops. A significant outcome was the initiation of a new project in the field of recycling that brings together academia and industry. Participants emphasized the importance of support in applying for EU funds, easier access to academic partners and targeted education for SMEs and researchers.
The event concluded with a proposal to ensure the sustainability of this knowledge community through the creation of formal structures, the appointment of contact persons and the organization of regular meetings, in order to strengthen cooperation and long-term capacities for innovation.
This round table is part of the project "Knowhow Communities for Accelerating RTI Transfer in the Danube Region - RTIT>>", which encourages innovation in the field of sustainable, bio-based and advanced materials by connecting SMEs, research organizations and stakeholders across the Danube region.
