The SCIHubs initiative aims to elevate the research and innovation landscape of the Danube Region by weaving smart city and region solutions into the fabric of small urban and regional development. This initiative stands to transform how cities and regions approach sustainability, efficiency, and technological integration. A pivotal outcome of this initiative is the creation of a Comprehensive Landscaping Report that not only maps the current integration of smart technologies into small urban and regional planning efforts but also identifies prevalent gaps and delineates the specific needs of various target groups, including academia, public authorities, SMEs, interest groups, and NGOs. This report will serve as a tool for stakeholders to understand the baseline from which the project will propel forward, offering insights into the potential for innovation and improvement.
Further solidifying the project's foundation, a Main Project Work Plan will be developed in SO3. This document will provide a granular overview of the main project's roadmap, detailing the activities to be undertaken, the expected outputs, and the measurable outcomes aimed at achieving the goal of fostering innovation across the Danube Regions. It will also include an outline of project partnerships, ensuring a collaborative approach to innovation. The work plan is built to function as a blueprint for the main project, guiding the consortium through the phases of implementation and ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives. Another element of the project's groundwork will be the formulation of a Funding Roadmap. This document will explore and identify funding sources for the main project, providing a strategic overview of financial avenues available for tapping into both public and private sectors. The roadmap will serve as a guide for navigating the complex landscape of funding opportunities, enabling the project team to plan strategically for long-term viability and success.
