Uncovering Local Flavors
The SReST project is transforming the regions of project partners into destinations for sustainable, socially responsible, and community-centered culinary tourism. In the past months, project partners have been systematically identifying local products, services, and culinary practices that highlight the regions’ unique heritage. By engaging with local producers, restaurant owners, and tourism providers, the project is mapping regional assets to develop offerings aligned with “socially responsible slow food" principles, appealing to travelers who value authenticity and sustainability.

Discovering the Regions’ Culinary Potential
Through the mapping process, partners have been uncovering the regions’ culinary potential, from traditional recipes to artisanal practices and eco-friendly production methods. In the process, the partners have been learning what makes their regions truly distinctive and unique. By focusing on designing scalable “socially responsible slow food tourism” (#SReST) solutions, the project is equipping local communities to elevate their local treasures and position their regions on the culinary tourism map. Several meetings and workshops were held with stakeholders. External experts from Slow Food Fondazione joined them in Postojna and Malinska.
