A workshop combining photography, nature, and tradition

As part of the SReST project ("Socially Responsible Slow Food Tourism in the Danube Region"), a creative workshop was held in Dubašnica. It was designed as an experience that connects nature, tradition, and photography, providing participants with the opportunity to explore the rich (agro)biodiversity of Dubašnica.

Through an interpretive walk and a photography workshop, participants explored the local landscape and improved their visual storytelling skills. Under the guidance of local photographer Hrvoje Kosir, the aim was to encourage participants to think about narrative, or new perspectives in documenting motifs that evoke tradition, sustainability, and the connection between food and the environment.

Special emphasis was placed on how to visually capture the essence of local products in their natural habitat – their textures, colors, natural surroundings, and cultural significance. The workshop was a creative combination of theoretical and practical parts, encouraging participants to exchange knowledge and experiences.

Ultimately, this workshop was not just a photography workshop, but also a way to celebrate the local heritage, sustainable food practices, and natural resources of Dubašnica – all through the lens of a camera. The gallery contains only a portion of the documented motifs, and the rest of the photographs will be on display at an exhibition in mid-September.

Thank you to the workshop leader, Hrvoje Kosir, for an excellent workshop, Marijana Kirasić Nekić from the Krk Photo Club for bringing together members of several photo clubs and other hobbyists, and all the participants who further enriched this project activity with their approach.
