Establishing phenological observation in Nikšić (Mali Brezovik) pilot area

The TRANSFER Danube team of IHMS visited agricultural properties in Mali Brezovik in the central region of Montenegro, on July 18th, 2025. The aim was to establish phenological monitoring and reporting of maize (hybrid NS 444).

The site was visited, and a designated plot was selected as the 2nd pilot area (i.e., reference location) for phenological reporting. The local farmer was informed about the TRANSFER Danube project and trained on how to monitor and report according to the standardized protocol.

The TRANSFER Danube project aims to raise awareness of policymakers and the private agricultural sector about the possible consequences of climate change on agricultural production. The beneficiaries of the project and the groups targeted by it are the local and regional decision-makers in the field of environmental protection and agriculture, as well as people in the field of agricultural policies and farmers.
