Establishing phenological observation in the Berane (Vinicka) pilot area

The Transfer Danube team of IHMS visited agricultural properties in Vinicka in the northern region of Montenegro on July 10^th, 2025. The aim was to establish phenological monitoring and reporting of maize.

Several plots were selected for monitoring, including one that is irrigated from a nearby well.

The local farmer was informed about the TRANSFER project and trained on how to monitor and report according to the standardized protocol.

The project aims to analyze new patterns of climatic extreme events (droughts, floods, heat waves, e.g.) and design/develop the necessary tools for agriculture in the Danube region in order to be able to properly adapt and respond to such challenges.
