Introduction of our Lead Partner: The HungaroMet Hungarian Meteorological Service

The HungaroMet Hungarian Meteorological Service is a nonprofit, state-owned company that is designated to cover public meteorological, climate adaptation policy and certain environmental duties in Hungary. Its work includes climatological research, vulnerability assessments, climate adaptation-related decision support (e.g. monitoring and strategic planning). It operates the national meteorological database and relevant IT systems (NAGiS, ClimADAT); produces accurate climatological and climate adaptation data; and maintains atmospheric and air quality measurement networks. It has participated in various international projects. As Lead Partner, it oversees project coordination and finance, and its own partner level tasks (e.g., SO1 leadership, roles in SO2, SO3). It takes part in quality assurance and prepares project-level reports. The team includes experts in meteorology, climate and environmental sciences, geography and human ecology.
