Babeș-Bolyai University (UBB)
Babeș-Bolyai University (UBB) is the largest public university in Romania, a university of advanced research and education, recognized as an elite academic institution and the highest-ranked Romanian university in international rankings. UBB holds a leading position among Romanian universities in terms of international research visibility. The Faculty of Environmental Science and Engineering focuses on interdisciplinary research in climate change, environmental modeling, remote sensing, and impact and risk assessment. UBB participates with a team of researchers with diverse and extensive expertise and it coordinates SO2 activities, working with HMET, NSKI, and CzechGlobe to develop a common vulnerability assessment framework and climate impact chains, and will lead the pilot plan and assessment. In SO3, UBB will help structure the DR Adaptation Policy Platform, create a map-based publication, and participate in events like the EUSDR Forecasting Forum and Climate Breakfast Club. UBB experts will also support climate adaptation policy development, roadmaps, and stakeholder workshops.
