Danube Wood(s) Route Project: Third Project Partners Meeting Held in Sarajevo

The Sarajevo Regional Development Agency (SERDA) hosted the third meeting of project partners for the Danube Wood(s) Route project, held on April 10 and 11, 2025, in Sarajevo. On the first day, the Managing Authority (MA) and the Joint Secretariat (JS) of the Danube Program conducted the first annual review meeting with project partners. Following this official session, partners continued with discussions on current and upcoming project activities.

The lead partner BSC, along with partners HVH, WWF, STRIA, and VEDA, presented the activities under their direct responsibility. Additionally, a partner workshop was held focusing on Strategy 1.2.

The meeting also served as an opportunity to showcase the activities of the SReST and DanubeGeo TorPlus projects, emphasizing their synergy with the Danube Wood(s) Route initiative.

On the second day, April 11, 2025, in cooperation with the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas, partners visited the Trebević protected landscape. During the visit, participants had the chance to explore the natural beauty of the area and gain insight into its management. The emphasis was placed on the importance of preserving the most valuable habitats within Sarajevo Canton and the sustainable use of natural resources.

SERDA also organized a cultural program for project partners, including a tour of Sarajevo's old town. Participants were introduced to the rich culture and traditions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Sarajevo Canton, with a special focus on traditional crafts, local cuisine, architecture, and museums—elements that align with the project's theme and could become part of the future Danube Wood(s) Route.
