14th March: World Cafe in Croatia

Local World Cafe event in Croatia was focused on three discussion topics derived from DECORATOR’s relevance and context:

1.     Enhancing Living Conditions: In addition to technological advancements, DECORATOR prioritizes improving living conditions and general well-being within the built environment. It aims to increase the quality of life for inhabitants by fostering innovation and sustainability while considering aesthetics and access to modern services, aligning with the objectives of the New European Bauhaus initiative.

2.     Fostering Circular Innovation: DECORATOR focuses on promoting circularity and the twin transition by digitally transforming production processes, materials, maintenance, and recycling methods, aiming to minimize the environmental impact of the construction sector.

3.     Embracing Digital Technologies: The DECORATOR project advocates for the widespread adoption of digital technologies such as IoT, robotics, AI, and virtual modelling across all stages of construction new or renovation of existing buildings, emphasizing their potential to enhance efficiency and sustainability.

Overall participant impressions are positive and satisfactory considering complexity and interrelations between liveability, circularity and technology affecting the value chain and business models in construction sector. The participants expressed a certain amount of curiosity for concrete information about the next steps and deliverables of the project.
