SCOM meeting, Villach, Austria - January 28, 2026

From January 26–28, 2026, an SCOM meeting was held in Villach, Austria. The meeting was hosted by FACHHOCHSCHULE KÄRNTEN – Carinthia University of Applied Sciences and supported by two representatives of our partner institution, Klaus Friedrich and Kathrin Stainer-Hämmerle.Agenda – Day 3Visit to Castle Wernberg (https://lnkd.in/euhiRW-U)Castle Wernberg is the center of the International Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood in Austria. The sisters strive for a simple lifestyle, grounded in their belief in the mystery of Easter. They live and work in intercultural communities and actively foster and value diversity in all its forms.Together with their co-workers, the sisters are engaged in a wide range of activities, including:(1) Organic agriculture and a convent garden(2) A monastery shop offering products from their own farm(3) A guesthouse with 45 beds and a restaurant(4) A house for recollection and renewal(5) A kindergarten(6) Pastoral and social servicesIt was truly fascinating to witness the creativity, entrepreneurship, and organizational skills of the sisters. Their work represents an excellent example of a self-sustaining and socially responsible operation. Thank you all for this inspiring experience.
