DRWO4.0 National Workshop - Croatia

On 21st and 22nd of May 2024, in Rijeka, National Workshop within the framework of the project Danube Region Wood Industry Transformation Model towards Industry 4.0 - DRWO4.0, was held. DRWO4.0 is co-funded by Interreg Danube Transnational Programme. Workshop was organised by lead partner Competence Centre Ltd. and project partner Culmena Ltd.

The DRWO4.0 project was presented during the first day of the 10th Lean Spring Summit conference, while the National Workshop of the DRWO4.0 project was held during the second day, where participants had the opportunity to learn about the latest innovations and best practice examples of Industry 4.0 in the EU and the Danube region as well as smart, digital and sustainable innovations which can potentially be transferred to forest-based sector of the Danube region.

A panel discussion about the challenges and opportunities of the transformation of the wood industry in Croatia towards industry 4.0 was also held at the workshop.

The main goal of the DRWO4.0 project is to improve the wood industry of the Danube region through transformation towards Industry 4.0. The aforementioned will be achieved through the transnational development of an applicable, adaptable and replicable wood industry transformation model based on Industry 4.0 as a solution for improving the wood industry of the Danube region. Total project budget is 1.946.560,00 EUR, and Competence Centre budget is 236.700,00 EUR. Co-financing rate is 80%, and project is co-financed by Interreg Danube Transnational Programme. The duration of the project is 24 months.
