DRWO4.0 National Workshop - Hungary

As a project partner of the DRWO4.0 project (Danube Region Wood Industry Transformation Model towards Industry 4.0), co-funded by the Interreg Danube Transnational Programme, a Hungarian National Workshop was organised by the University of Pécs and CICC Association at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology in Pécs on the 30th September, where we welcomed more than 30 participants from both wood and furniture industry.

Digitalisation, green manufacturing and efficient production planning were the main themes of the event. The topics of the presentations were very varied, including the introduction of the DRWO4.0 project, production optimisation, the link between the wood industry and education, sustainability and even alternative wood plantations.

The main conclusion of the workshop was that larger companies have already integrated digitalisation into their operations, but small and medium-sized enterprises are also open to it in order to increase efficiency.
We were delighted to be able to initiate a conversation between businesses in the region and to start working with them to create a transformation model regarding the wood industry.
