Empowering Innovation and Sustainability in the Wood Industry: DRWO Partners Take the Stage in Sofia

On March 27–28, 2025, Sofia became the hub of sustainable innovation and cross-sector collaboration as DRWO 4.0 partners gathered for two significant events under the Pilot Environment East initiative.

Hands-on Learning for a Greener Future

The Train-the-Trainer Programme, held on March 27 at Missia 23 and delivered by dr. Tamas Racz of University of Pecs, was a practical deep dive into sustainable kitchen design. Participants explored eco-friendly materials, modular and repairable design strategies, and local-scale production solutions for kitchen furniture. Through interactive sessions, the programme equipped educators and professionals with the tools to drive change in the furniture and wood-based industries—combining environmental responsibility with cutting-edge manufacturing approaches.

Study Visit and Createch Summit SEE 2025: Creativity Meets Industry 4.0

The momentum continued with a study visit and industry deep dive, including a visit to Niki Ltd. in Pravets to observe best practices in action, and participation in Createch Summit SEE 2025 on March 28.
