Mendel University in Brno, Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology – INTRODUCING ASSOCIATED STRATEGIC PARTNERS (ASP) IN THE DRWO4.0 PROJECT 8/18

Mendel University in Brno, Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology is an associated partner of project partner KČN within the DRWO4.0 project.

The Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology is a well-established higher education institution with a long tradition and widely recognised impact. It is a leading institution providing education in fields such as forestry, game management, landscape engineering, arboriculture, technical biology of woody plants, forestry and wood technology, wood processing and utilisation, and furniture design.

In addition to its educational role, the faculty conducts research, development, and specialised professional activities across these areas, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and innovation in the forest-based sector.

🎯 Within the DRWO4.0 project, the Faculty contributes through the following activities:

✔ Providing key data on the Czech wood industry for the baseline assessment (SO1, Activity 1.1), indirectly supporting later phases such as the development of the Action Plan and the Transformation Model (Activities 1.3 and 3.1)
✔ Participating in national-level knowledge transfer events and contributing to data collection on opportunities for integrating Industry 4.0 into education and the industrial sector in the Czech Republic (SO1, Activity 1.2)
✔ Contributing to the Western Project Ecosystem (PE West) through participation in project events, exchange of ideas, and networking activities (SO1, Activity 1.4)
✔ Supporting capacity building within PE West through collaboration and networking with participating organisations (SO2)
✔ Contributing to the development of the Transformation Model by advising on how educational methodologies can be applied in its use and further development (SO3)

Through its strong academic expertise and extensive experience in forestry and wood technology education and research, the Faculty plays an important role in strengthening knowledge transfer and supporting the digital transformation of the forest-based sector within the DRWO4.0 project.
