Project DRWO 4.0 presented at the 8th International Scientific Conference A.L.I.C.E.
On April 1st, 2025, the 8th International Scientific Conference A.L.I.C.E. took place at the City Museum of Ljubljana, organized by the Faculty of Design. The conference was held as part of the international event GoinGreenGlobal Design Week, which the Faculty traditionally hosts each year to create a platform for discussions on sustainable development, contemporary design practices, and innovation. This year’s central theme, “Society 5.0 and Global Innovation,” highlighted the key challenges of integrating advanced technologies with societal needs and environmental responsibility. The conference provided insight into the future of design and architecture in the context of digital transformation, the development of smart cities, sustainable strategies, and the importance of a human-centered and ethical approach to innovation.

Within this context, the project DRWO 4.0 was successfully presented. The project focuses on the development and use of digital tools for more efficient material management, increased transparency in value chains, and the integration of sustainable principles into the wood-processing industry. DRWO 4.0 aligns with the concept of Industry 4.0, addressing the need for digitalization and circular resource management in the sector. The poster presentation sparked strong interest among professionals and opened important discussions about the future of new business models in the wood-processing industry, particularly in light of sustainable and digitally driven industrial transformation.
