Revolutionary tool that enhances production processes in the era of Industry 4.0

As part of the project “Danube Region Wood Industry Transformation Model towards Industry 4.0 (DRWO4.0)”, a thematic event titled “Application of Industry 4.0 Principles in the Wood and Construction Industry through the Presentation of Innovative Solutions by Palette CAD” was held on 14 November 2025 at the premises of PREDA Agency in Prijedor.

The event brought together representatives of the wood industry, construction sector, designers and entrepreneurs interested in modern technologies that are transforming the way products and services are designed, manufactured and presented.

On this occasion, new digital solutions and innovations that enhance the wood industry across the Danube Region were presented. Through the application of the Quadruple Helix model, the DRWO4.0 project connected companies, experts, educational institutions and local communities to jointly shape a smarter, more efficient and more competitive sector. Among the most significant innovations developed within the pilot activities was a practical 3D printing solution — an electric socket produced using wood-based PLA filament, representing a unique combination of modern technology and sustainable materials, and a concrete step toward the digitalized industry of the future.

The central part of the event was the presentation of the Palette CAD software — Europe’s leading solution for 3D interior planning and digital furniture modelling. The company's expert team demonstrated how this tool integrates design and production into a single, efficient workflow, enabling users to create realistic visualizations, technical documentation, CNC-ready models, and complete project proposals for clients.

Special attention was drawn to the VR technology demonstration, which allowed participants to experience a completely new concept of space and furniture presentation. Augmented reality enabled attendees to “walk through” a virtually designed space via a virtual avatar that independently selects colours and interior elements and performs specific actions.

At the end of the event, a discussion and B2B meeting were held, providing participants the opportunity to talk about sector challenges, the potential of digital solutions and opportunities for collaboration within the DRWO4.0 project.

The aim of the event was to present local businesses with concrete, innovative production solutions and offer insights into what Industry 4.0 brings to modern operations.

The event was organized in cooperation between PREDA Agency and Palette CAD.
