Ukrainian National Forestry University (UNFU) – INTRODUCING THE ASSOCIATED STRATEGIC PARTNERS (ASP) OF THE DRWO4.0 PROJECT 7/18

Ukrainian National Forestry University (UNFU) is an associated partner of project partner FORZA within the DRWO4.0 project.

UNFU is the only higher education institution in Ukraine specialized in forestry and wood processing, educating professionals across a wide range of fields within the forest-based sector and related branches of the national economy. The University’s mission focuses on sustainable forest management, ecological economics, efficient resource use, environmental protection, and the development of advanced technologies in forestry and the wood industry.

Special emphasis is placed on energy-efficient and environmentally sound technologies, the use of biomass and energy crops, as well as innovative solutions for wood waste processing and bioenergy production.

🎯 Within the DRWO4.0 project, UNFU contributes through the following activities:

✔ Providing relevant scientific data during the baseline assessment on the development of the Ukrainian forest-based sector and its potential for Industry 4.0 integration (SO1, Activity 1.1)
✔ Contributing to the development of the Action Plan by reviewing and adapting scientific data into a form applicable to the forest-based industry (SO1, Activity 1.3)
✔ Participating in study visits (SO2) to enhance knowledge transfer and strengthen the sector in Ukraine through the adoption of smart and digital solutions
✔ Supporting the development of the project manual through expert review (SO3, Activity 3.3), providing feedback on its applicability within the Ukrainian forest-based sector and higher education institutions as a target group

Through its strong scientific capacity and in-depth understanding of the challenges faced by the sector in Ukraine, UNFU makes an important contribution to the development of sustainable, digital, and innovative solutions within the DRWO4.0 project.
