University of Ljubljana – INTRODUCING THE ASSOCIATED PARTNERS (ASP) IN THE DRWO4.0 PROJECT 14/18

The University of Ljubljana (UNILJ) is an associated partner of the project partner FoD within the DRWO4.0 project.

UNILJ is the oldest and largest higher education and scientific research institution in Slovenia. The university conducts and promotes fundamental, applied, and developmental research, striving for excellence, highest quality, and ethical standards across all scientific and artistic disciplines.

Within DRWO4.0, activities are carried out by the Department of Wood Science and Technology at the Biotechnical Faculty. The faculty educates students at higher professional, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels in wood science and technology. A key focus of the faculty is participating in the creation of policies and guidelines to align education with industry needs.

🎯 Within DRWO4.0, UNILJ contributes through the following activities:
✔ Actively participates in the Pilot Environment West (PE West, SO2) activities and supports the development of the Action Plan through expert review and advisory services (SO1, Activity 1.3)
✔ Provides data on wood technology development in Slovenia for SO1 activities (Activity 1.1)
✔ Participates in the exchange of data, knowledge, and know-how during study visits and train-the-trainer sessions (SO2, Activities 2.1 & 2.2)
✔ Supports the development of the project manual through expert review and advisory input (SO3)

With its scientific and educational expertise, the University of Ljubljana significantly contributes to data collection, knowledge transfer, and the application of innovations in the wood industry, as well as the development of smart and digital solutions within the DRWO4.0 project.
