Second ESINERGY Webinar – Recording Now Available on YouTube

On 20 May 2026, the ESINERGY project successfully organised its second international webinar, titled “Peak Load Reduction in Practice and Policy”, bringing together energy stakeholders, policymakers, technical experts, and regional development practitioners to discuss innovative solutions for reducing peak electricity demand and strengthening grid resilience.

The webinar focused on both practical experiences and policy approaches related to peak load reduction, highlighting tested solutions and good practices from across the Danube region. Participants explored topics including battery storage, smart EV charging, demand response mechanisms, and the integration of local renewable energy sources to improve energy flexibility and system stability.

Special attention was given to the role of energy resilience in crisis situations and the importance of supporting and scaling energy communities as part of the transition toward more sustainable and future-ready energy systems.

The event featured presentations and insights from distinguished experts and ESINERGY partners, including:

  • Katja Karba (Local Energy Agency Pomurje, Slovenia) – ESINERGY Lead Partner

  • Dr. Michael Stöhr (B.A.U.M. Consult GmbH, Germany)

  • Faruk Cerić (Sarajevo Economic Regional Development Agency, Bosnia and Herzegovina)

  • Andreas Klär (Electricity Company Hindelang, Germany)

  • Andriy Kyrchiv (Energy Efficient Cities of Ukraine)

  • Melinda Toth (South Transdanubian Regional Development Agency, Hungary)

  • Marko Nedeljković (Center for Sustainable Energy Development, Serbia)

The webinar also included an engaging discussion session, allowing participants to exchange experiences, ask questions, and reflect on how innovative energy solutions can be translated into effective policy measures.

For those who were unable to attend, or would like to revisit the presentations and discussion, the full webinar recording is now available on the ESINERGY YouTube channel
