Conference “Synergy for a Renewable Future” Held at MIND Park in Kragujevac

MIND Park, April 8, 2025 – Yesterday, the conference “Synergy for a Renewable Future” was successfully held at MIND Park in Kragujevac, bringing together key stakeholders from the fields of renewable energy, industry, local governments, and international institutions.

The conference was officially opened by Nenad Popović, Director of the Regional Agency for Economic Development of Šumadija and Pomoravlje – Kragujevac, with opening remarks from Darko Đorić, Executive Director of MIND Group, and Boris Ilijevski, Project Manager at the EU Delegation to Serbia. The focus of the event was on projects funded by the Danube Region Programme and other European funds supporting the energy transition in the region.

During the project presentation session, participants had the opportunity to learn about key initiatives such as:

NRGCOM – creating conditions for energy communities in the Danube region,
GeoHeCo – geothermal energy as an opportunity for local development,
the Eco-Industrial Parks (EIP) project in cooperation with IFC, EC, and WBIF,
ESINERGY – solar rooftops as a model for energy transition, presented by the Regional Development Agency of Eastern Serbia – RARIS.

The highlight of the event was the panel discussion titled “Renewable Energy in the Danube Region – Challenges and Opportunities,” where panelists from the EU Delegation, the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SKGO), and MIND Group discussed national strategies, financial models, the role of industrial parks, and opportunities for attracting investment in green technologies.

Participants agreed that synergy between local communities, industry, and international partners, along with efficient use of EU funds, is key to accelerating the green transition.

The conference concluded with a summary of key messages and an informal networking segment.
