FNE ESINERGY – New Green Local Energy for a Sustainable Future
Goražde, July 17, 2025 – As part of the ESINERGY project, the Sarajevo Regional Development Agency (SERDA) has established its first pilot facility: a photovoltaic power plant with a battery storage system installed on the premises of the Electricity Distribution building in Goražde.
This innovative installation (10 kW solar + 10 kWh battery) reduces peak loads, increases the share of green energy, and contributes to the energy efficiency and resilience of the local community.
Key results of the pilot project:
Reduction of peak load by up to 49%
Coverage of 40–70% of the building’s daily energy needs during the summer
A total of 2,223 kWh of electricity produced, of which 740 kWh came from the battery system
Power supply for the 24/7 distribution center and AC electric vehicle charging station (2x23kW) directly from the PV system
Implementation of an energy monitoring application for both production and consumption
Potential for transitioning to heat pumps and further reducing electricity consumption during the winter
This model demonstrates how local energy production at the point of consumption can contribute to decarbonization, grid loss reduction, and energy independence.
FNE ESINERGY serves as a scalable and practical model for both the public and private sectors across Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region.
