Partner2Partner Meeting WEIZ

Partner2Partner Meeting WEIZ

An international Partner2Partner meeting on measures to reduce peak loads was recently held in the town of Weiz as part of the Interreg project ESINERGY. Guests included representatives from Slovenia's Local Energy Agency Pomurje, Hungary's Zala County Self Government and IMRO-DDKK Nonprofit Ltd., and Germany's B.A.U.M. Group. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the progress and challenges of the regional energy transition and to exchange experiences.

One focus of the meeting was a tour of the photovoltaic systems at the W.E.I.Z. Innovation Center, which currently have a capacity of 120 kWp and are to be expanded to 250 kWp in the coming years. Günther Maier from the W.E.I.Z. Innovation Center explained the expansion plans and concepts for the efficient use of the solar energy generated to the international guests.

The energy community model, which is actively promoted in Weiz to optimally connect local energy production and consumption, attracted particular interest. The innovative peak load management system, which helps to stabilize the energy supply and maximize the self-consumption of photovoltaic energy, was also discussed at length.

In a lively discussion round, participants exchanged ideas and best practices from their respective regions. The event provided a valuable platform for cross-border dialogue and strengthened cooperation in the field of sustainable energy. The partners agreed that the exchange of such ideas is crucial for creating a sustainable energy supply and jointly mastering the challenges of the energy transition.
