Slovenia pilot: A Model for Smart EV Flexibility

Within the ESINERGY project, the Slovenian pilot demonstrates how smart electric mobility can significantly support the grid, boost solar integration, and strengthen local energy systems.

  1. Smart EV Flexibility
    One EV in V2B mode can offset ~3.3 kW of building peak load
    In V2G mode, a single EV can compensate up to ~10 kW of solar-induced peaks

  2. PV + EV Integration
    One V2B EV can balance up to 10 kW of PV production impact — a perfect synergy between solar power and e-mobility.

  3. Small Fleet Potential
    Just 5 smart chargers in an average PV area can enable one additional PV plant on the same transformer.
    A small fleet with a big impact!

  4. National Potential
    🇸🇮 If only 10% of PV owners adopt V2B:
    this results in 50 MW peak load reduction
    V2G adds another 4.2 MW of grid support

  5. What does this enable?
    A 50 MW reduction unlocks capacity for:
    10,000 new 5 kW PV systems
    • Powering 14,000 households per year
    • Adding space for 420 commercial PV units

The Slovenian pilot shows that smart mobility is a key partner to renewable energy — proving that EVs are not just vehicles, but active players in the energy transition.
