The Second Focus Group Meeting in Croatia

On November 29, 2024, Medjimurje Energy Agency Ltd. organised the second focus group meeting as part of the ESINERGY project

The meeting was attended by identified stakeholders from local self-governments, regional distribution system operators, non-profit organisations, public institutions and small and medium-sized enterprises.

The pilot investment, which was the topic of the meeting, is a battery storage system and an updated and upgraded smart metering system – one of the eight pilot approaches of the ESINERGY project.

At the focus group meeting, stakeholders were informed about the current state of the pilot investment – about the course of implementation, possible difficulties and further steps regarding the pilot solution. This was followed by a discussion on the cost-effectiveness of such a pilot approach and the replication potential of battery energy storage systems in other locations/regions.

After the working part of the meeting, a visit to the pilot investment was organised, at the address Bana Josipa Jelačića 22 in Čakovec (Administrative building in the Knowledge Center of Medjimurje County). The focus group stakeholders were explained the operation of the battery storage system, the smart metering system and all the key performance indicators related to the pilot investment which are monitored through this system.
