ForestConnect project presented to stakeholders in Bulgaria

The objectives, project partners, planned activities and expected results were presented

On 04/03/2024 during the 28th international exhibition "Nature, Hunting and Fishing", International Fair, Plovdiv, Bulgaria within the framework of the Round table, the ForestConnect project was presented to representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the Executive Forest Agency, the State forest enterprises, the National Hunting and Fishing Association "Union of Hunters and Anglers in Bulgaria", Forestry University-Sofia, Executive Agency for Fisheries and Aquaculture and other stakeholders. The objectives, project partners, planned activities and expected results were presented. ForestConnect is funded by the transnational cooperation program "INTERREG VI-B Danube Region 2021-2027" and lasts 30 months, involving 15 organizations from 7 countries in the region of the Balkans, the Carpathians and the Dinaric Mountains. The Executive Forest Agency is a partner in the project and the leading partner is WWF Bulgaria.

One of the objectives of ForestConnect is to seek the participation of interested stakeholders in the project activities to share experience and knowledge about large carnivores and to improve the connectivity of their habitats at a transnational level.
