Mystical Danube joins the Interreg family in celebrating 35 years of European cooperation

On November 12, 2025, the Mystical Danube project proudly joined the Interreg family in celebrating 35 years since the launch of the Interreg Programme – a milestone honouring European cooperation and the partnerships that drive regional development.

On November 12-13, 2025, the Interreg 35^th anniversary event was held at the Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest. Organized by the National Authority for Interreg Programmes within the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration (MDLPA), the event brought together partners and public institutions from Romania and across Europe, members of the Interreg community, as well as stakeholders interested in territorial cooperation projects.

The Mystical Danube project team from Ministerul Economiei, Digitalizării, Antreprenoriatului și Turismului (MEDAT) Romania participated in the event alongside its strategic partners, the Călărași County Council and MDLPA-EUSDR Culture Tourism. The event provided a unique opportunity to highlight the success stories of numerous projects that have generated positive change over the years in communities across Romania and the Danube Basin. It also served as a platform for dialogue and collaboration aimed at strengthening future Interreg initiatives and fostering a more united and sustainable Europe.
