Tržič: A Mountain Kingdom of Stories and Wonders
As an associate partner of RRA Gorenjska - BSC Kranj, the historic town of Tržič offers a peaceful retreat near the Austrian border, Slovenia's largest airport, while being within easy reach of popular attractions like Bled, Bohinj, Ljubljana, and Kranjska Gora.
Legend has it that a dragon hatched from a rooster’s egg near Košuta mountain, splitting the mountain in two and triggering a massive rockslide - the very event believed to have shaped the present-day town.
The nearby St. Anne mercury mine is undergoing comprehensive development. During a January visit to the pilot area, the BSC Kranj project team observed key improvements, including reopening two collapsed mine entrances and installing infrastructure to connect three tunnels via a new shaft, promising an enhanced visitor experience.
Nature, heritage, and fascinating tales await!
