The Mystical Danube project is entering a new phase!

Zrinski Park in Čakovec has been chosen as a pilot area for the project in Međimurje County, and will soon be enriched with a circular storytelling benches dedicated to authentic Međimurje myths and legends. 
Through this project, we’ll bring to life many local legends of the dragon Pozoj, deeply rooted in Međimurje’s heritage. 

Next to the storytelling benches, there will also be an info map of the new transnational Danube storytelling route—creating an entirely new tourist experience, infused with the mysticism of the entire Danube region. 

To define the exact location and ensure alignment with the area’s natural values, we visited the pilot site and, in collaboration with the relevant authorities, established all the necessary conditions for the continuation of the project. Key stakeholders include Međimurje County, the Museum of Međimurje Čakovec, and Međimurje Nature – the public institution managing this protected area.

A unique blend of nature, cultural heritage, and storytelling will soon come to life through an exciting new tourism product!
