Mystical Danube: Strategic Interview with the Ministry of Tourism and Sport

As part of the Mystical Danube project, the AGRRA team is currently in the process of gathering input essential for the development of the transnational Strategy for the Valorisation of Natural and Intangible Cultural Heritage in Rural and Less-Visited Areas of the Danube Region. This Strategy is being drafted for the entire transnational Danube Region, in alignment with the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR), Priority Area 3 – Culture and Tourism.

In support of this effort, AGRRA, together with external experts, organized an online consultation meeting on Monday, July 21, 2025, with representatives of a key stakeholder—the Ministry of Tourism and Sport.

The meeting brought together representatives from AGRRA, project partners from REDEA, external experts, and key Ministry representatives Ms. Senka Daniel and Ms. Iva Čaleta Pleša.

The objective of the meeting was to gather proposals for goals, measures, and activities that will shape the forthcoming Strategy, as well as to obtain valuable recommendations for integrating these elements into relevant public policies.

As a member of the PA3 Steering Group, Ms. Daniel, alongside her colleague Ms. Čaleta Pleša, provided valuable insights, ideas, and suggestions that will significantly inform and enrich the Strategy development process.

We extend our sincere gratitude to both interviewees for generously sharing their time and expertise. Their contributions offer fresh perspectives as we enter the next phase of the Mystical Danube project.
