RTIT >> Project Presented to the Montenegrin Public and SMEs through Info Day and Round Table

As part of the RTIT: Knowhow Communities for Accelerating RTI Transfer in the Danube Region project, an Info Day and Round Table titled “Support for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Field of Materials and New Technologies” was held on September 29, 2025, at the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Montenegro in Podgorica.

The event, organized by IEC Tehnopolis and the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Montenegro, aimed to present available support mechanisms in Montenegro to small and medium-sized enterprises, startups, researchers, and students – with a special focus on the opportunities provided by the RTIT project, including the open Public Call. The program also included thematic presentations on innovative energy solutions, covering topics such as energy recovery from olive oil production waste, electrochemical power sources, and sodium-ion batteries, delivered by experts from both academia and industry.

The program highlighted concrete measures and tools available to entrepreneurs and innovators, while the central segment was dedicated to the Action Plan for Accelerating RTI Transfer in the Field of Materials and Material Technologies in the Danube Region.

The Round Table brought together representatives of institutions, SMEs, and the academic community. In a constructive discussion, key challenges were identified and possible solutions proposed, with the conclusion that this type of dialogue represents an important step towards strengthening cooperation and creating conditions for more efficient knowledge and technology transfer in the field of materials and new technologies.

By holding this event, the importance of the RTIT project for the national innovation ecosystem was further confirmed, as well as its contribution to connecting relevant stakeholders in the Danube Region, with the goal of fostering the development of sustainable, bio-based, and advanced materials.
