Activity 2.3 – Business Model Development: Community engagement events
Within Activity 2.3 – Business Model Development, all pilot partners successfully developed business models for three selected buildings within the previously mapped building stock in their respective piloting areas.
For each of the three selected buildings, the partners prepared a detailed renovation concept and proposal for a new or improved use of the building. These detailed design proposals served as the foundation for the development of the corresponding business models, which provide a comprehensive overview of the planned renovation process, implementation approach, and financial framework.
To ensure a structured approach, a Business Model Canvas template was applied for each selected building. The canvas included key elements such as key partners, key activities, value proposition, cost structure, and potential sources of financing. Each pilot partner developed three canvases – one for each selected building – tailored to the specific characteristics, renovation needs, and future functions of the buildings.

The developed concepts and business models were presented during local workshops organised by each pilot partner. These workshops gathered local authorities, relevant stakeholders, and citizens interested in the project and local development.

The workshops provided an opportunity for open discussion and knowledge exchange. Participants reviewed the presented work, discussed the next implementation steps, and contributed valuable feedback, examples, and suggestions for further development. These discussions helped refine the approaches and identify additional opportunities for working with buildings that demonstrate strong potential for renovation and reuse.
