Online stations of network for narrow-leaved ash trees monitoring installed
In summer 2025, first two online stations of network for narrow-leaved ash trees monitoring were installed in the Židlochovice Forest Enterprise. Using precise sensors, we can measure factors such as changes in tree trunk circumference, temperature, and soil and air humidity.
The collected data is automatically transferred to a central database. This allows us to track how trees with varying vitality respond to drought, rainfall, or sudden temperature changes, and gain a better understanding of the causes and consequences of these responses. This type of monitoring helps detect signs of stress in forest stands more quickly. We can monitor environmental conditions to determine whether they are suitable or unsuitable for specific tree species, while in the same time, we can measure the direct response of the tree species. The design of the online station integrates both approaches, providing us with a more comprehensive understanding of the state and development of the ecosystem.
