First Stakeholder Meeting

The South Muntenia Regional Development Agency (ADR Sud-Muntenia), as project leader, organized on September 16th, the first stakeholders’ meeting of the project “Skills4Life – Supporting the socio-economic integration of young people leaving child protection systems by developing their skills and capacities, through more inclusive transition policies in the Danube Region”, funded under the 2nd Call of the Danube Region Programme.

The event took place at Valahia University of Targoviște and brought together more than 35 representatives from local public authorities, academia, NGOs, and the business environment. The Romanian partners of the project – Argeș Business People Association and Advanced Technology Systems – participated alongside representatives of numerous institutions from the South Muntenia Region and Bucharest, including: Călărași County Employment Agency (AJOFM), Argeș County School Inspectorate, The Social Incubator, Concordia, DGASPC Argeș, DGASPC Ialomița and DGASPC Giurgiu.

During the meeting, the project’s objectives and results were presented, along with the activities carried out so far and the digital training platform dedicated to young people. This platform will provide educational resources and courses to help them develop the skills needed for professional and social integration.

Discussions also focused on the current situation of young people in the region, complemented by good practice examples presented by The Social Incubator and Concordia, with concrete models of support for the socio-professional integration of young people.

This first meeting strengthened partnerships and laid the foundations for solid collaboration, meant to support young people – especially those leaving the child protection system – in building a better future.

The Skills4Life project aims to improve transition policies dedicated to young people leaving the child protection system, by developing an educational program tailored to their needs. The program will include the development of essential skills for entering the labor market, as well as participation in mentoring activities and personalized support.
