When care ends, the challenges begin!

For many young people raised in foster care, residential institutions or child welfare systems, turning 18 doesn’t just mean adulthood — it often means losing the only support they’ve ever known.

Suddenly, they face the future alone:
🚫 No formal education
🚫 No stable job
🚫 No support network

This can lead to unemployment, homelessness and social exclusion.

🌱 That’s where Skills4Life steps in.

In the Danube region, together with 12 partners from 9 countries, we are building a new model of support for care leavers. Our innovative educational programme provides the tools and guidance young adults need to take control of their lives.

Through tailored mentoring, counselling, skills development and real-world experience, we help them:

🔹 Build confidence and life skills
🔹 Increase their employability
🔹 Participate fully in society

📢 We believe that no young person should be left behind simply because the system stops at 18. With Skills4Life, we’re turning transitions into opportunities.

We are proud to work alongside committed partners across Europe who share our vision of inclusion, opportunity and long-term impact.
