Visit to the Pécs Rain Garden Facility by groups

In the first week of October, two groups visited our rain garden facility in Pécs.
A group of geography teachers paid a visit to our rain garden/lysimeter facility from Budapest last Tuesday (September 30). The visitors were educated on green infrastructural methods and elements. Among many other green topics, visitors were educated on our rain gardens and the Miyawaki forest of the Ifjúság Street Campus of UP. We do hope that this information on sustainable management practices will then be integrated into their geography classes and will be passed on to the younger generations.
The second group of our visitors last week was a group of 11th grade students, visiting us from the Nagy Lajos Cistercian High School in Pécs. Their current scope of studies is centered around environmental science education and the implementation of "best management practices" in urban areas. Hence, they came to a green infrastructure hot spot😊. Remember, it is never too early (or late) to start training of this type!
Visitors were also mastered in environmental monitoring and sensors that are used for the quantification of the hydrologic cycle. We believe that such training not only raises awareness on climate change and altered urban conditions but also contributes to the improvement of city comfort, urban livability and sustainable city life.
More groups are yet to visit us in the upcoming weeks.

Feel free to join us at any time and keep an eye open on our latest news!
