The Ostrava Job Fair opened the door to employment for hundreds of people

On Monday, September 22, 2025, the Clarion Congress Hotel Ostrava hosted the traditional Ostrava Job Fair, organized by the Regional Branch of the Czech Labor Office in Ostrava. The event, which is an important part of the region's active employment policy, offered hundreds of job vacancies and the opportunity to meet employers and labor office advisors in person.

The fair featured 74 employers from the Moravian-Silesian Region, who presented a wide range of job positions in various fields – from services and healthcare to manufacturing, construction, and care for the elderly and children. Interested parties had the opportunity to obtain information directly from the exhibiting companies, submit their CVs, or arrange personal interviews.

According to a press release, the event attracted more than 2 000 visitors, which is a record attendance and confirms the public's interest in the current job opportunities in the region. Among the employers who presented themselves were well-known companies such as Vítkovice Steel, IKEA, Veolia, Lidl, Globus, and O2 Czech Republic.

Consulting and accompanying programs

In addition to the job offers themselves, the fair also included a consulting zone run by the Czech Labor Office, where experts helped visitors with CV consultations, choosing suitable retraining, and orientation in the job market. Participants could also learn more about the possibilities offered by European employment services or take advantage of counseling from representatives of other institutions, such as the Ministry of the Interior, the District Social Security Administration, and the Regional Labor Inspectorate.

The event was also expanded to include seminars for employers, focusing, for example, on the issue of employing foreigners and related legislation, and this year, for the first time, the Association of Personnel Agencies was also represented.

The Labor Office is one of the key stakeholders in our project, so it is important to monitor the activities that this partner organizes for the entire region. The Ostrava Job Fair is an important initiative that directly supports the connection of job seekers with local employers, thus contributing to the improvement of the labor market situation in the Moravian-Silesian Region.

Events of this type have a strategic impact not only on job seekers and companies, but also on other interested organizations that actively support employment, education, and the development of work skills. Participation and cooperation with the Labor Office in such large regional activities strengthens our position and brings valuable opportunities for further synergistic steps in the project.
