Hands-on workshop on the MoRE model implementation

On 12 and 13 June 2025, water quality experts from nine EU and non-EU Danube countries gathered at TU Wien for a two-day workshop on the pathway-oriented emission model, MoRE.

As part of the project, we are rolling out the harmonised implementation and application of this tool at transnational and national levels. This is one of our key objectives and will ensure a more effective understanding of, and control over, trace contaminants in surface waters.

Martine Broer and Oliver Gabriel from the Environment Agency Austria, who are coordinating the activity, have supported the project partners for over one year with setting up the model, learning how to use it, and searching for and processing all the necessary input data, via regular webinars and remote support.

During the workshop, participants discussed and exchanged their experiences and progress and received support from expert modellers from the Environment Agency Austria and TU Wien in many hands-on sessions to accelerate the implementation process.
